I have never personally had that issue but i ve heard a lot of people mention that. Heat mat with dubia roaches i have never used a heat mat so does it need to be in direct contact with the plastic does it have to be a surtain way around and what s the best way of sticking it to the plastic as sellotape doesn t work lol. Some of the off brand containers are made thin and the plastic will melt or thin out with the heat pad underneath. I was using the heat cord and human heating pads.

I noticed that the heat cord was leaving burn marks where the heat cord was. I bought a 30 gallon tote from walmart and have a 30 40 gal zoo med heat mat. Timely post for my situation. Best heat mat for my dubia roaches plastic tub.

I ve had dubia roaches for 6 years and i ve had my heatpad under the container. I think what you are doing is find you just have to wait now and let them acclimate and start to breed. There are a lot of different ways to heat your roach enclosure. A couple of years ago i had a dubia colony large plastic bin melt out the bottom after over a year of no problems.

I ve never had an issue before.
