Attach Quarter Round Laminate

When installing quarterly round moldings i consider it as a frame around your laminate or hardwood flooring as a frame around a piece of art so the better it is done the better.

Attach quarter round laminate.

Quarter round molding is a thin strip of wood shaped with two flat sides and a rounded crest. But where the base moulding meets the doorframe it angles in slightly so the quarter round does not fit flush against it as it does to the base. The problem is the edge of the door frame angles in. Installing quarter round moldings is the finishing touch after the laminate or hardwood flooring is installed.

This finish molding is commonly connected to baseboard trim along the floor to protect the wood and hide imperfections at the base. Then attach the quarter round with a bead polyurethane construction adhesive to the pan only on the vertical surface or better yet schluter kerdi fix if you can find it. Best way to attach quarter round to brick we had an additional room put on the back of the house and i continued the laminate flooring into the room. Then brush paint over the quarter rounds until they look clean and well coated.

We had the contractor leave the brick that was on the exterior of the house. Before opening the can of paint protect the walls and floor by laying blue painter s tape around each quarter round. We did undercut the door frame to slide the laminate underneath. For install i would first silicone the end of the laminate gap where it butts into the pan and let it dry.

Then silicone the edges and hope there is enough allowance for movement. Paint the quarter rounds with a semi gloss paint.
